Basketball Recap: Upper Lake Comes Up Short

Upper Lake was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell 39-29 to the Cloverdale Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 42-37 back in January.

Cloverdale was led to victory by Ronni Hatcher and Amara Galvan. Hatcher dropped a double-double on 12 points and 19 boards, while Galvan posted ten points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. Those 12 points gave Hatcher a new career-high. Alexis Jimenez was another key player, putting up two points and four steals.

Upper Lake's defeat dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Cloverdale, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-10 record this season.

Upper Lake wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 52-37 loss against Kelseyville on the 5th. As for Cloverdale, they have also already played their next game, a 66-47 win against Clear Lake on the 5th.
