Basketball Recap: Cambria Heights Falls Short of River Valley in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Cambria Heights can now relate to. They lost 55-32 to the River Valley Panthers on Monday. The Highlanders haven't had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

It was another big night for Ava Persichetti, who to rack up 32 points in addition to six rebounds and five assists for River Valley. The matchup was Persichetti's ninth in a row with at least 16 points. Morgan Cole was another key player, putting up six points and ten boards.

Cambria Heights' defeat dropped their record down to 18-7. As for River Valley, the win keeps them at an undefeated 26-0.

Looking ahead, Cambria Heights will look to defend their home court on Friday against Richland at 7:00 p.m. As for River Valley, they will square off against Central Cambria at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. River Valley is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62.9 points per game this season.
