Softball Game Preview: Southeast Polk Rams vs. Ankeny Centennial Jaguars

Southeast Polk's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They came out on top against North Scott by a score of 5-0.

Meanwhile, Ankeny Centennial's hitters rose to the challenge against a Dodgers pitching crew that boasted an average of only 3.52 runs allowed on Saturday. The Jaguars were the clear victors by an 11-2 margin over Fort Dodge. The Jaguars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by eight runs or more this season.

Southeast Polk's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-8. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Ankeny Centennial, their win bumped their record up to 12-5.

Southeast Polk came out on top in a nail-biter against Ankeny Centennial when the teams last played on June 4th, sneaking past 5-3. Will the Rams repeat their success, or do the Jaguars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
