Volleyball Recap: Sahuarita Comes Up Short

Sahuarita was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell 2-0 to the Sunnyside Blue Devils. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Mustangs of the 2-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Kawika Daws paced Sahuarita's offense, picking up four kills. Daws got some help from Elian Quijada and his three assists. Quijada was also solid from the service line: he led the team with two aces.

Sahuarita's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Sunnyside, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-2.

Sahuarita has already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Mica Mountain on the 21st. As for Sunnyside, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 loss against Mesa on the 21st.
