Baseball Game Preview: Mt. Blue Cougars vs. Mt. Ararat Eagles

The Mt. Blue Cougars will face off against the Mt. Ararat Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Mt. Blue 3.6, Mt. Ararat 2.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Mt. Blue is headed into Tuesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight games on Friday. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of Bangor. That's two games in a row now that the Cougars have lost by just one run.

Mt. Blue saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jax Vienneau, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one double and one RBI.

Meanwhile, after some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last six matchups, Mt. Ararat finally came back down to earth on Friday. They fell 5-1 to Messalonskee. The contest marked Mt. Ararat's lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Mt. Blue's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Mt. Ararat, their defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 7-1 and their overall record down to 11-2.

Mt. Blue came out on top in a nail-biter against Mt. Ararat in their previous matchup back in April of 2025, sneaking past 5-4. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
