Basketball Recap: Gateway Takes a Loss

Gateway was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 25th straight loss dating back to last season. They were dealt a 68-24 defeat at the hands of the Franklin Regional Panthers. While losing is never fun, the Gators can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 641st, while the Panthers are ranked 103rd).

Gateway's loss dropped their record down to 0-13. As for Franklin Regional, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-4.

Gateway will take on Quaker Valley in a tournament on Saturday. As for Franklin Regional, they will square off against Fox Chapel at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Fox Chapel will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Franklin Regional surely won't give up without a fight.
