Baseball Recap: Westside Comes Up Short

Westside fell victim to West Laurens and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They lost 15-0 to the West Laurens Raiders. The Patriots' loss continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Westside's defeat dropped their record down to 8-6. As for West Laurens, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.

Westside and West Laurens could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings. Westside will take on Harlem at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday down 238 places (288 vs. 50). Westside has given up an average of 8 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. Meanwhile, West Laurens (ranked 127th) will meet Morgan County (ranked eighth) at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
