Football Game Preview: Tohatchi Cougars vs. Wingate Bears

The Tohatchi Cougars will face off against the Wingate Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Friday, Tohatchi got the win against Shiprock by a conclusive 28-6. The victory continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Chieftains: they've now won five in a row.

Tohatchi didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Wesley Chee and Ryan Willie.

Meanwhile, Wingate was not the first on the board on Friday, but they got there more often. They had just enough and edged out Gallup 14-12.

Tohatchi's win bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Wingate, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2.

Everything came up roses for Tohatchi against Wingate in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 54-0 win. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Bears have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
