Basketball Recap: Cajon Falls Despite Big Games from Bjork Ponder and Lyrics Thompson

Cajon saw some tournament action on Wednesday. They fell 39-33 to the Whitney Wildcats.

Cajon's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Lyrics Thompson, who posted eight points, and Bjork Ponder, who earned six points and nine rebounds.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Whitney to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tina Namiranian, who shot 67% from the field on her way to 18 points and three steals. Namiranian is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Alyssa So was another key player, putting up 17 points and three steals.

Cajon now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Whitney, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
