            Softball Recap: Cass Wildcats vs. Mercy Monarchs        
        
		
        
        
            Cass extended their losing streak  to three  on Tuesday, dropping them down to 1-3. They took  an  11-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mercy Monarchs. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wildcats of the  8-5 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture  back in August of 2024.

Cass got a good showing from  Sydney Weisz, who   pitched three innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   three  hits. Weisz has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks any time she's  pitched this season.
 At the plate,  Sailor Manske was cooking despite her team's loss,   going 2-for-3 with two  doubles, one  run,  and one  RBI. Those  doubles marked the first that  she has  hit this season.  Hannah Bogatz was another key player,  going 1-for-2 with one  stolen base, one  run,  and one  double.
As for Mercy,  the  victory snapped their losing streak at four games  and leaves them with a 2-4 record. The high-scoring effort was just what they needed considering they were shut out in their previous   game.
 On Mercy's side,  the team  relied heavily on  Cloe King, who  went 2-for-3 with three  RBI, two  runs,  and one  triple. That's the most  runs  King has posted since back in September of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of  Ollie Lynch, who  went a perfect 2-for-2 with two  RBI, one  run,  and one  double.
 Coincidentally, Cass and Mercy will both be playing Plattsmouth the next time they take the field. The Monarchs will head out to face the Blue Devils at 5:00  p.m.  on Tuesday, while the Wildcats will play them later in the day, at 6:00  p.m.
