Seckinger had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 15-run drubbing they dealt Gainesville on Tuesday. The Jaguars never let the Red Elephants get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory. Considering the Jaguars have won nine contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Sadie Melanson looked comfortable as she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

Seckinger pushed their record up to 14-8 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Gainesville, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-8 record this season.

Seckinger and Gainesville could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings. The Jaguars (ranked 87th) will meet Wesleyan (ranked 14th) at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Gainesville will challenge Roswell at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank disadvantage (277 vs. 130).
