Baseball Recap: Lakeside Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

Lakeside proved they can win big last Saturday (they won by 15) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Woodward Academy War Eagles, sneaking past 7-5. The victory was familiar territory for the Vikings, who have now won four games in a row.

Rory Lichtman looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four).

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jihad Guy, who fired off two home runs while going 2-for-4. That's the most hits he has posted since March 6th. Jayden Mosley was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Lakeside's record is now 14-6. As for Woodward Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-4 record this season.

Lakeside will have a chance to go back-to-back against Woodward Academy: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
