Softball Game Preview: Charlton County Indians vs. Pierce County Bears

The Charlton County Indians will face off against the Pierce County Bears at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Charlton County proved they can win big on Friday (they won by 14) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-6 win over Worth County.

The team relied heavily on Macariyah Gibbs, who earned four runs and five stolen bases. Those five stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Karleigh Crews, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Pierce County took care of business in their home opener (barely) on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 10-9 victory over Brunswick.

Charlton County's win bumped their record up to 2-0-1. As for Pierce County, their victory was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 1-0.
