Basketball Recap: Mount Union Comes Up Short

Mount Union was the 56-42 winner over Northern Bedford County when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The game between the Mount Union Trojans and the Northern Bedford County Panthers didn't end well, with the Mount Union Trojans falling 41-27. The Trojans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Defeat or not, Mount Union got some senior leadership from Maddie Dimoff and Cailyn Skopic. Dimoff posted 11 points and five rebounds, while Skopic scored seven points. That was a full 40.7% of Mount Union's points, marking the sixth time in a row she's put up more than a third of the team's points. Lily Massey was another key player, putting up five points.

Mount Union's loss dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Northern Bedford County, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 6-9.

Mount Union will challenge McConnellsburg at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Northern Bedford County, they will take on Southern Fulton at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
