Baseball Game Preview: Aragon Dons vs. Mountain View Spartans

The Aragon Dons are taking a road trip to square off against the Mountain View Spartans at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Mountain View took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Aragon, who comes in off a win.

Aragon came out on top against Mills on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run sixth inning. The Dons took their matchup against the Vikings 7-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Dons.

Alex Gosselin spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits and racked up seven Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Nick Mazzola, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Keith Matye was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Mountain View was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of Wilcox. The loss was just more heartbreak for the Spartans, who fell 3-1 when the teams last met back in April.

Mountain View saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zander Yocum, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI.

Mountain View's defeat dropped their record down to 4-17. As for Aragon, their victory bumped their record up to 14-7.

Aragon came up short against Mountain View when the teams last played back in April of 2025, falling 4-0. Can the Dons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
