Recap: Menlo School Knights vs. Pinewood Panthers
After a string of three wins, the Menlo School Knights's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell 38-28 to Pinewood. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Menlo School in their matchups with Pinewood: they've now lost nine in a row.
Menlo School's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Arthi Abhyanker, who scored 9 points along with 7 rebounds and 4 steals. Abhyanker scored a full 32.1% of Menlo School's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Ruiqi Liu was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with 9 rebounds.
Among those leading the charge was Betti Hamori, who scored 15 points along with 9 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Alex Facelo, who scored 8 points along with 6 assists.
Menlo School's loss dropped their record down to 3-1. As for Pinewood, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.
Menlo School's road trip will continue as they head out to face Terra Nova at 8:15 p.m. on December 7th. Pinewood will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Los Gatos at 5:30 p.m. on December 13th.
