Softball Recap: Shenandoah Takes a Loss

Shenandoah extended their losing streak to four on Monday, dropping their season record down to 4-8 in the process. They lost 17-2 to the Lewis Central Titans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Titans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 20-2 on Monday.

As for Lewis Central, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season. Considering they have won 13 contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

For Lewis Central's part, Emerson Coziahr spent all four innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on three hits. Coziahr has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Camryn King was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted over her last 15 games. Another player making a difference was Cami Damgaard, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple.

Shenandoah wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, an 8-0 loss against Creston on the 17th. As for Lewis Central, they will challenge Harlan at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
