Basketball Recap: Westwood Takes a Loss

Westwood lost to Loyalton back in December of 2025 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Lumberjacks were dealt a 59-6 defeat at the hands of the Grizzlies.

Loyalton's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Charlotte Potter, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and 18 boards. With that strong performance, Potter is now averaging an impressive 8.5 rebounds per game. Another player making a difference was Catherine Petterson, who posted 12 points along with eight assists and six boards.

Westwood's loss dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Loyalton, the win was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-2.

Westwood will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Paradise Adventist Academy at 5:00 p.m. on the 10th. As for Loyalton, they will venture away from home to challenge Plumas Charter at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
