Football Recap: Northwest Texans vs. Keller Indians
Northwest fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Keller on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 34-28 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Indians. The Texans gained 80 more yards on the day, but it was the Indians that made the best use of them.
Mark Hartman threw for 196 yards on 19 of 28 attempts. Jeremiah Brown was his top target, picking up 89 receiving yards. On the ground, Caris Sela rushed for 261 yards and three scores while picking up 7.3 yards per carry.
Leading Keller to victory were Quintin Shropshire and Brock Burkett. Shropshire rushed for 100 yards and a pair of TDs on only 14 carries, while Burkett gained 246 total yards.
Northwest now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Keller, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1.
Northwest wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 31-30 loss against V.R. Eaton on the 19th. As for Keller, they have also already played their next game, a 31-28 defeat against Bell on the 19th.
