Baseball Game Preview: Oglethorpe County Patriots vs. Banks County Leopards

The Oglethorpe County Patriots are taking a road trip to challenge the Banks County Leopards at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Oglethorpe County has struggled recently with four defeats in a row, while Banks County will arrive with 12 straight victories.

Friday just wasn't the day for Oglethorpe County's offense. They lost 10-0 to Elbert County on Friday. That's two games in a row now that the Patriots have lost by exactly ten runs.

Meanwhile, Banks County narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Athens Academy 6-5.

Banks County pushed their record up to 18-3 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Oglethorpe County, their loss dropped their record down to 9-13.

Oglethorpe County skirted past Banks County 5-4 when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Will Oglethorpe County repeat their success, or does Banks County has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
