Soccer Game Preview: Westminster Christian Academy vs. Central Fellowship Christian Academy

The Westminster Christian Academy Lions will head out to take on the Central Fellowship Christian Academy Lancers at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.

It was a proper cat-fight when Westminster Christian Academy faced off against Westminster Schools of Augusta on Tuesday. The Lions lost 5-1 to the Wildcats. Westminster Christian Academy haven't had much luck with Westminster Schools of Augusta recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Central Fellowship Christian Academy). They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over Covenant Academy on Tuesday. Considering Central Fellowship Christian Academy have won ten contests by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Their offense was hitting Covenant Academy from everywhere, as seven different players booted in a goal. Munashe Tarirah led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for three goals all by himself.

The win made it two in a row for Central Fellowship Christian Academy and bumps their season record up to 13-2-1. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 12 goals over those two matchups. As for Westminster Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-4-1.

Westminster Christian Academy was able to grind out a solid win over Central Fellowship Christian Academy when the teams last played back in May of 2024, winning 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lions since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
