Brainerd and Alexandria are an even 5-5 against one another since September of 2018, but not for long. The Warriors will take on the Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Brainerd has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with three straight losses, while Alexandria will come in with five straight victories.

Brainerd is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Monticello on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Warriors came up short against the Magic, falling 52-29. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota football rankings (they are ranked 72nd, while the Magic are ranked 16th).

Meanwhile, Alexandria won a game that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by Bemidji 36-35.

Alexandria's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Brainerd, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.

Brainerd was taken down by Alexandria 55-17 in their previous matchup back in September of 2024. Thankfully for the Warriors, Mason Gorghuber (who picked up 114 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
