Baseball Recap: Keyser Golden Tornado vs. Elkins Tigers
Keyser had lost three straight on the road, but on Wednesday they dropped down to 10-17 to make it four. They lost 16-4 to the Elkins Tigers. The Golden Tornado were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Tigers earlier this season, when they won 3-1.
Owen Rotruck made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and one double. Another player making a difference was Lucas Williamson, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run.
As for Elkins, the win got them back to even at 14-14. They not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 25th (when they won 23-7).
On Elkins' side, Trent Stone and Dyer Barger did most of the damage at the plate: Stone went a perfect 4-for-4 with three doubles, four RBI, and one run, while Barger went 2-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one double. Those three doubles gave Stone a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Braden Cooper, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.
As of now, neither Keyser nor Elkins have any future games scheduled.
