Volleyball Recap: Magdalena Takes a Loss

If Magdalena was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Animas on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Steers lost 3-0 to the Oak Grove Classical Academy Owls on Monday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Owls this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 last Tuesday.

The final score came out to 25-10, 25-23, 25-23.

Oak Grove Classical Academy was led to victory by Alexee Schroeder and Ava Sorenson. Schroeder had 16 assists and five digs, while Sorenson had 13 digs. That's the most assists Schroeder has posted over her last eight matchups.

Magdalena's defeat dropped their record down to 11-6. As for Oak Grove Classical Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season.

Magdalena didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Native American Community Academy/Evangel Christian Academy on the 21st. As for Oak Grove Classical Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Legacy Academy on the 21st.
