Football Recap: Creighton Prep Beats Fremont for Their Seventh Straight Victory

Creighton Prep extended their winning streak to seven games thanks to a huge performance from Angelo Wallker. The Junior Jays came out on top against the Fremont Tigers by a score of 37-24 on Friday for which the team can thank Wallker, who rushed for 169 yards and two TDs while picking up 8.0 yards per carry. Wallker is crushing it when it comes to rushing touchdowns: he's punched in at least two every time he's taken the field this season.

Creighton Prep's defense made their presence known, laying out Will Schleicher four times. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: David Heine, Jake Brock, and Elisee Ahanti, who each picked up one sack apiece. Creighton Prep received some extra help from Tyler Miles, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

Hudson Jennings and Schleicher certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Jennings picked up 121 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns, while Schleicher threw for 263 yards and three TDs. Jennings was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield on a catch that went for 60 yards.

Creighton Prep's record now sits at 7-0. As for Fremont, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-3 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Creighton Prep is set to take on their familiar foe Omaha Westside at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Junior Jays 14.6, the Warriors 14.7) so any points scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Fremont will challenge rival Papillion-LaVista at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
