Football Game Preview: Glencoe Yellowjackets vs. Locust Fork Hornets + How To Watch

The Glencoe Yellowjackets will challenge the Locust Fork Hornets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Glencoe has three straight victories, Locust Fork has six straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Glencoe is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took their contest on Friday with ease, bagging a 70-16 win over Ohatchee. With the Yellowjackets ahead 49-2 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Glencoe's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Isaiah Young, who picked up 87 receiving yards and two scores. Young was no stranger to the big play, connecting on a big catch that went for 62 yards. Bronner McMurray was another key back, rushing for 53 yards and one touchdown.

Glencoe didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Hayden Hudson. Glencoe received some extra help from Barry Hill, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

Meanwhile, Locust Fork was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 54-48 to Wellborn. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (34), the Hornets still had to take the loss.

Locust Fork's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Glencoe, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2.

Things could have been worse for Glencoe, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 55-39 loss to Locust Fork when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Thankfully for the Yellowjackets, Levi White (who picked up 330 receiving yards and three TDs) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
