Hazleton Area put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Dallas Mountaineers 70-28. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked second, while the Mountaineers are ranked 198th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Hazleton Area pushed their record up to 15-0 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Dallas, they moved to 7-7 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hazleton Area will welcome Berwick at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hazleton Area is facing Berwick at the right time seeing as Berwick is stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Dallas, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Wyoming Valley West at 7:15 p.m. Dallas will also cruise into their next contest with the timing on their side: Wyoming Valley West will have lost three straight heading into Friday's match.
