Softball Recap: Freedom Christian Academy Wins Going Away Against Cannon

While Freedom Christian Academy put up some runs on Saturday, the same can't be said for Cannon. Freedom Christian Academy put the hurt on Cannon with a sharp 10-0 win. The Patriots might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 matches by six runs or more this season.

London Chavis was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, one triple, and one run. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March of 2024. Kaylee Powell was another key player, scoring three runs while going 2-for-2.

Freedom Christian Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .381. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cannon only posted a batting average of .167.

The victory made it two in a row for Freedom Christian Academy and bumps their season record up to 13-1. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.5 runs over those games. As for Cannon, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Freedom Christian Academy will face off against Fayetteville Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Freedom Christian Academy's pitchers better be ready for this one: Fayetteville Christian has averaged an impressive 7.2 runs per game this season. As for Cannon, they will welcome Charlotte Country Day School at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The game will give Cannon their first taste of in-conference action this season.
