Football Recap: Life Christian Academy Piles Up the Points Against Model Secondary School for the Deaf

Fans were treated to a battle of the Eagles on Saturday. Life Christian Academy blew past Model Secondary School for the Deaf, posting a 50-6 win. Life Christian Academy's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Sedgric Hopkins, Jr. had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 115 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries. His longest rush was for an impressive 53 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Teriq Drew was another key player, gaining 82 total yards and a touchdown.

Special teams also played a big role in the game for Life Christian Academy, adding 12 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Jordan Lee, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.

The victory made it two in a row for Life Christian Academy and bumps their season record up to 2-4. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 39.0 points over those games. As for Model Secondary School for the Deaf, they dropped their record down to 1-5 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Life Christian Academy will venture away from home to take on John Paul II Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th. The Eagles' defense better be ready for this one: the Saints have averaged an impressive 44.3 points per game this season. As for Model Secondary School for the Deaf, after each having a week off, they and Girard College will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:00 p.m. on the 18th.
