Football Recap: Eldorado Comes Up Short

Eldorado extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 1-3. They were outmatched by the Volcano Vista Hawks and fell 35-7. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Golden Eagles of the 28-8 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

As for Volcano Vista, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-1. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 6.7 points on average over those games.

It was another big night for Aurelius Wiley, who rushed for 167 yards and three scores while picking up 9.8 yards per carry, and also threw for 84 yards and one touchdown.

Looking ahead, Eldorado will head out on the road to challenge Santa Fe at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Volcano Vista, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Piedra Vista at 7:00 p.m. on October 2.
