Baseball Game Preview: Rome Wolves vs. New Manchester Jaguar

The Rome Wolves will venture away from home to face off against the New Manchester Jaguar at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. New Manchester took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Rome, who comes in off a win.

Rome took a ten-run loss the last time they faced off against Kennesaw Mountain, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Rome had just enough and edged out Kennesaw Mountain 10-9. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Wolves' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Wyatt Costlow was a standout: he scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. He has become a key player for Rome: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 2-9 otherwise. Brett Boden was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, New Manchester was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 15-2 to South Paulding.

With the win, Rome broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-9. As for New Manchester, their loss dropped their record down to 4-9.
