Hempfield Area hasn't had much luck against Norwin recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Hempfield Area Spartans will look to defend their home court against the Norwin Knights at 7:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Hempfield Area is headed into the contest having just suffered their biggest loss since February 9, 2024 on Thursday. They lost 75-55 to Upper St. Clair. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 110th, while the Panthers are ranked 15th).

Meanwhile, Norwin strolled past Canon-McMillan with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 56-40. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Knights.

Norwin's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-6. As for Hempfield Area, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-5.

Things could have been worse for Hempfield Area, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 49-31 loss to Norwin when the teams last played back in February of 2024.
