Soccer Game Preview: Mary Star of the Sea vs. St. Anthony

The Mary Star of the Sea Stars will venture away from home to challenge the St. Anthony Saints at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.

Mary Star of the Sea is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to five goals back in December of 2024, they were much more limited against Bishop Montgomery on Tuesday. They came up short against the Knights, falling 3-0. The shutout was out of character for the Stars seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in December of 2024.

Meanwhile, St. Anthony's game on Tuesday was all tied up 1-1 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They had just enough and edged Ramona Convent out 2-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Saints.

Jeweliana Moreno and Paloma Toscano scored both of St. Anthony's goals, bringing their combined season tally to ten goals.

Mary Star of the Sea suffered their first road loss, dropping their record down to 3-2. As for St. Anthony, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1-1.

Mary Star of the Sea took their win against St. Anthony in their previous matchup back in January of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0. Will Mary Star of the Sea repeat their success, or does St. Anthony have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
