Baseball Recap: Victory Baptist Snags Seventh Victory in Last Eight Games

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Victory Baptist walked away with it. They won by a run and slipped past the Hearts Academy Panthers 9-8. This was a revenge game for the Warrior: when they faced off against the Panthers on Thursday, they had to take a 6-5 loss.

Asher Alexander was incredible, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Victory Baptist is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.9 runs over those games. As for Hearts Academy, they moved to 16-4 with that defeat, which also ended their eight-game winning streak.

Victory Baptist will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Panthers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 12:00 p.m. on Friday.
