Soccer Game Preview: Clearview vs. Brookside

Clearview is 0-3 against Brookside since September of 2024 but things could change on Thursday. The Clippers will welcome the Cardinals at 6:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Clearview fell victim to Firelands and their airtight defense on Monday. They came up short against the Falcons, falling 10-0. While losing is never fun, Clearview can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio soccer rankings (they are ranked 443rd, while Firelands are ranked 113th).

Meanwhile, Brookside lost 6-2 to Columbia on Wednesday. Brookside have struggled against Columbia recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Parker Gabet and Jeremiah Nickum scored both of Brookside's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 14 goals.

Brookside's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Clearview, their loss dropped their record down to 6-8.

Clearview might still be hurting after the 6-1 defeat they got from Brookside in their previous matchup back in September. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Clippers were down 4-0.
