Soccer Game Preview: Denair vs. Gustine

The Denair Coyotes will head out to take on the Gustine Reds at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Denair sitting on nine straight victories and Gustine on four.

Denair's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. Everything went their way against Waterford as Denair made off with a 6-0 win. It was an even better day for Jazmin Padilla as she scored five goals for her team.

Meanwhile, Gustine narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Delhi 3-2.

Gustine pushed their record up to 12-4-2 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up two goals over those seven games. As for Denair, their victory bumped their record up to 15-5-1.

Denair came out on top in a nail-biter against Gustine in their previous meeting back in January, sneaking past 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for Denair since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
