Basketball Recap: Del Oro Takes a Loss

After flying high against California City on Friday, Del Oro came back down to earth. The Del Oro Suns came up short against the Yosemite Badgers on Saturday, falling 46-21.

Yosemite's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jadyn Johnson led the charge by dropping a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. What's more, Johnson also racked up three blocks, the most she's had since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Alyson Espinoza, who went 5 of 9 en route to 11 points and six rebounds.

Del Oro's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Yosemite, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-11.

Del Oro wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 38-9 loss against Golden Valley on the 8th. As for Yosemite, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 46-36 victory against Mariposa County on the 30th.
