Recap: Patterson Tigers vs. Atwater Falcons
After a string of 16 wins, the Patterson Tigers's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell to Atwater 59-53. Patterson lost against Atwater in their previous head to head back in January of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 50-45 score last time.
Patterson's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Daneilla Garcia, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. Taylor Mason was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with three steals.
Patterson's loss ended a ten-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 16-1. As for Atwater, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.
Patterson will head out on the road to face off against Merced at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Merced is on a three-game streak of home wins, Patterson a seven-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. Atwater will take on Golden Valley at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Golden Valley is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
