Football Recap: Tipton Comes Up Short

Tipton lost against Heritage back in September of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Blue Devils fell 30-20 to the Patriots.

Despite the loss, Tipton saw an underclassman step up: sophomore William Wolford made 13 total tackles (2.0 for loss).

Lucas Weber had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 212 yards and four TDs while picking up 7.6 yards per carry for Heritage. Those four rushing touchdowns gave Weber a new career-high.

Tipton has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season. As for Heritage, they pushed their record up to 4-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tipton will host Lafayette Central Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Blue Devils will be up against the Knights' rather soft defense (which has allowed 33.2 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Heritage, they will square off against Bluffton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Patriots will need to watch out since the Tigers have now posted at least 31 points in their last five games.
