2023 MaxPreps All-America Team: Lauren Harden of Indiana headlines high school volleyball's best

Hamilton Southeastern star and MaxPreps National Player of the Year Lauren Harden leads 60-player squad.

The 2023 high school volleyball season is complete with state champions crowned across the country. Mater Dei (Santa Ana, Calif.) is the MaxPreps National Champion and senior outside hitter Lauren Harden of Hamilton Southeastern (Fishers, Ind.) is the MaxPreps National Player of the Year.

The postseason honors continue with the unveiling of the MaxPreps All-America Team.

The 60-player team includes five players from the Mater Dei squad in addition to hitters, setters and liberos who led their squads to great success this season. Many of the All-Americans are state champions, some put up eye-popping statistical numbers and most are headed to marquee college programs.

FIRST TEAM

Hitters

Grace Agolli, Pace Academy (Atlanta)
6-1 | Senior (Class of 2024) | Committed to California

The Knights went 37-3, finished No. 5 in the MaxPreps Top 25 and won their seventh straight state title. Agolli, who heads to Berkeley having never lost a state title match, finished 2023 with 389 kills (4.7 per set) and topped the 1,000-kill mark toward the end of her career.

Ayden Ames, Prosper (Texas)
6-4 | Senior (Class of 2024) | Texas

Pounded 548 kills this season as the Eagles went 37-10 and reached the Class 6A semifinals. Finished with 1,567 career kills despite missing a season during the pandemic.



Isabel Clark, Mater Dei (Santa Ana, Calif.)
6-2 | Senior (Class of 2024) | San Diego

Leading hitter for the state and national champs had 402 kills (3.7 per set). She had 53 blocks along with 323 digs.

Samara Coleman, Grand Oaks (Spring, Texas)
6-1 | Junior (Class of 2025) | Pittsburgh

Passed the 1,000-career kill mark this season with her senior year left to play. Coleman pounded 472 kills this season as the Grizzlies went 50-1, won the Class 6A title and finished No. 2 in the MaxPreps Top 25.

Suli Ane Davis, Colleyville Heritage (Colleyville, Texas)
6-2 | Junior (Class of 2025) | BYU

Among the state leaders in kills, the future Cougar hammered 793 kills in 148 sets while hitting at 45 percent. The Panthers went 40-11, reaching the Class 5A semifinals.

Megan Fitch, Cornerstone Christian (San Antonio)
6-1 | Junior (Class of 2025) | Texas A&M

Dropped 459 kills in 102 sets as her team went 34-7 against a national schedule, finishing No. 24 in the MaxPreps Top 25.

Lauren Harden, Hamilton Southeastern (Fishers, Ind.)

6-3 | Senior (Class of 2024) | Florida
Tallied 371 kills and ended her career with more than 1,000 as she heads to Gainesville a back-to-back Class 4A champion.

Lauren Medeck, Papillion-LaVista South (Papillion, Neb.)
6-0 | Senior (Class of 2024) | South Dakota

Finished her career with 1,538 kills and 1,313 digs while going 136-11 over four seasons. Medeck tallied 391 kills this season as Papillion-LaVista South went 35-2.

Charlotte Moriarty, Assumption (Louisville, Ky.)
5-11 | Senior (Class of 2024) | Xavier

Tallied 413 kills this season for the No. 7 Rockets as they won the Kentucky state title. She was a first-team all-state selection.

Layli Ostovar, Mater Dei
5-11 | Sophomore (Class of 2026) | Uncommitted

Came back from an off-season injury to help her team win state and national titles. She notched 347 kills in 111 sets for a stacked Mater Dei lineup while adding 312 digs.

Payton Petersen, Dike-New Hartford (Dike, Iowa)
5-10 | Senior (Class of 2024) | Louisville
Three-time state champion led the Wolverines to a 50-0 mark and No. 14 spot in the MaxPreps Top 25. She dropped 616 kills in 110 sets along with 313 digs.

Skyler Pierce, Olathe Northwest (Olathe, Kan.)
6-3 | Senior (Class of 2024) | Nebraska

Future Cornhusker had 444 kills for the 34-7 Ravens with 230 digs. She missed time at the beginning of the season with USA Volleyball U19's gold medal winning team.

Madison Quest, Divine Savior Holy Angels (Milwaukee)
6-3 | Senior (Class of 2024) | Wisconsin

Improved her numbers in each of her three seasons with the Dashers, hammering 557 kills this season as her team won its second straight Division 1 title while going 44-1 and finishing No. 6 nationally.

Macaria Spears, Prestonwood Christian (Plano, Texas)
6-3 | Junior (Class of 2025) | Texas

Helped the Lions to back-to-back TAPPS 6A titles with 334 kills while hitting 37 percent. She added 26 aces and 37 blocks in 88 sets.



Halle Thompson, Grand Oaks
6-0 | Sophomore (Class of 2026) | Uncommitted

Tallied 493 kills as her team went 50-1 and grabbed the Texas 6A title in the school's fifth year of existence.

Charlotte Vinson, Yorktown (Ind.)
6-2 | Junior (Class of 2025) | Indiana

Vinson has been putting up insane kill totals for three seasons and had 759 in 2023 as the Tigers went 27-6. She has already passed the 1,500-kill milestone with a season left to play.

Ellie White, Mother McAuley (Chicago)
5-11 | Senior (Class of 2024) | Michigan

Not only has the stats to back up her game but an incredible will to win that sets her apart. The Class 4A state finals MVP pounded 484 kills (5.1 per set) as the Mighty Macs won their 17th state title.

Setters

Cooper Abney, Pope (Marietta, Ga.)
5-8 | Senior (Class of 2024) | Eastern Kentucky

A multi-year MaxPreps All-American and four-year all-state player, she holds the school record for assists with 3,030 after adding 954 this season. The Greyhounds went 39-4 and reached the AAAAAA final.

Peyton Heatherly, Mother McAuley
5-10 | Freshman (Class of 2027) | Uncommitted

One of two freshmen on the MaxPreps All-America Team, she helped the Mighty Macs to their 17th state championship with 737 assists. McAuley went 37-5, won the Class 4A state title and finished No. 10 nationally.

Julia Kakkis, Mater Dei
6-1 | Senior (Class of 2024) | Brown

Made up for having to sit her junior year after transferring by leading the Monarchs to a national title. She had 1,103 assists as the catalyst of the Mater Dei offense. She added 103 kills and 84 blocks as a setter who also was a significant net presence.

Reese Messer, St. James Academy (Lenexa, Kan.)
5-11 | Junior (Class of 2025) | USC

The motor of the Thunder's engine with 872 assists, Messer also added 251 digs, 150 kills and 50 blocks. St. James Academy finished 33-6

Stella Swenson, Wayzata (Plymouth, Minn.)
6-2 | Senior (Class of 2024) | Minnesota

The Star Tribune Player of the Year helped the Trojans to a 33-0 record, No. 9 ranking and a fourth straight state title. Tallied 3,017 assists, 203 blocks, 184 service aces and 632 digs in her career.

Libero



Malyssa Cawa, Mater Dei
5-6 | Senior (Class of 2024) | Stanford

The stalwart in the back row of the national champs tallied 545 digs along with 558 serve receptions. In her career, she had 1,290 digs and nearly 1,500 receptions.

Sophie Ledbetter, Hamilton Southeastern
5-9 | Senior (Class of 2024) | Ball State

Passed the 1,000-dig plateau during the Royals' championship season. Had 417 digs and 430 serve receptions this season.

Aniya Warren, Benet Academy (Lisle, Ill.)
5-8 | Junior (Class of 2025) | Indiana

Was a wall in the back row as she tallied 447 digs, 91 assists and 21 aces for the 39-3 Redwings, who reached the 4A title match for the second straight year.

All-Around

Camryn Chatellier, St. Mary's Dominican (New Orleans)
5-10 | Senior (Class of 2024) | LSU (Beach)

A four-year champion, she pounded 595 kills this season for Dominican as it went 44-2 with a No. 20 national ranking. She finished her prep career with nearly 1,500 kills and more than 1,000 digs.

Charlie Fuerbringer, Mira Costa (Manhattan Beach, Calif.)
5-11 | Senior (Class of 2024) | Wisconsin

An elite setter who also excelled at hitting, Fuerbringer logged 130 kills and 416 assists while helping the Mustangs to a 39-4 record.



Janelle Green, Blue Valley North (Overland Park, Kan.)
5-9 | Senior (Class of 2024) | Cincinnati

The daughter of former NFL quarterback Trent Green helped the Mustangs to a 38-4 mark and berth in the Class 6A final, dishing up 619 assists along with 181 kills and 249 digs.

Mia Tvrdy, Papillion-LaVista (Papillion, Neb.)
6-0 | Senior (Class of 2024) | Oregon

Hammered 395 kills for the Monarchs, who reached the Class A title game.

Logan Wiley, Alpharetta (Alpharetta, Ga.)
6-2 | Senior (Class of 2024) | Georgia Tech

The AAAAAA Player of the Year helped the Raiders to a 38-3 record, winning a state title and finishing No. 13 in the MaxPreps Top 25. Wiley had 417 kills this season, finishing her career with more than 1,500. She added 91 blocks.

Hitters

Henley Anderson, Dripping Springs (Texas)
6-2 | Sophomore (Class of 2026) | Uncommitted

The Tigers went 48-7 thanks in large part to her team-high 717 kills to go along with 831 serve receptions, 395 digs, 60 aces and 51 blocks.

Adrianna Arquette, Kamehameha Kapalama (Honolulu)
5-10 | Senior (Class of 2024) | Hawaii

Averaged 4.3 kills per set, hammering 364 total as the No. 18 Warriors went 30-3 and captured the Division 1 title. She added 111 blocks, 30 aces and 264 digs.

Izzy Busignani, Marian (Bloomfield Hills, Mich.)
6-1 | Junior (Class of 2025) | Cincinnati

Led the 44-8 Mustangs in kills (640) and digs (358) while adding 76 aces and 407 serve receptions.

Lydia Chinchar, Carrollwood Day (Tampa, Fla.)
6-1 | Freshman (Class of 2027) | Uncommitted

The second ninth grader on the MaxPreps All-America Team helped the Patriots to a 3A title, No. 17 national finish and 31-2 mark. She pounded 573 kills (6.3 per set) with 67 blocks playing alongside sister Naomi (924 assists) and for father Doug.



Ellis Crawford, Pope
6-3 | Junior (Class of 2025) | Maryland

Led the 39-4 Greyhounds in kills with 362 and added 79 blocks. She enters her senior season closing in on 1,000 career kills.

Lauren Hurst, Cleveland (Tenn.)
6-3 | Junior (Class of 2025) | Uncommitted

Closing in on 2,000 career kills after posting 766 this season while Cleveland went 42-8 and captured the Division I Class AAA title.

Audrey Flanagan, Mira Costa
6-2 | Sophomore (Class of 2026) | Uncommitted

Stepped on the big stage during the Ann Kang Invitational early in the season when the Mustangs were without Fuerbringer. She finished the season with a team-high 452 kills as the Mustangs advanced to the Southern California Open Division regional semifinals.

Cymarah Gordon, Mater Dei
6-0 | Senior (Class of 2024) | Michigan

Hammered 358 kills for the MaxPreps National Champions as teams faced a pick-your-poison in trying to stop Gordon, Clark and Ostovar. She added 77 blocks up front for the Monarchs.

Jenna Hanes, Cathedral Catholic (San Diego)
6-3 | Senior (Class of 2024) | Michigan

Tallied 248 kills and 61 blocks for the No. 11 team in the country that went 34-5 and finished as SoCal Open Division finalists.

Regan Harp, Fayetteville (Ark.)
6-1 | Senior (Class of 2024) | Central Arkansas

Led her squad to a Class 6A title after losing a pair of All-Americans to graduation after 2022. Helped Fayetteville to a 25-8 mark with 587 kills and 274 digs.

Grace Nelson, Oak Park-River Forest (Oak Park, Ill.)
6-1 | Senior (Class of 2024) | Kansas

Helped the Huskies to a 31-7 record while leading the team with 443 kills (5.2 per set) with 322 digs and 53 aces. She ended her prep career with 1,160 kills.

Mila Mijailovic, Campbell Hall (North Hollywood, Calif.)
5-10 | Senior (Class of 2024) | Yale

A force for the Vikings as they won the CIF Division II title, hammered 623 kills this season, finishing with 1,566 in three seasons at Campbell Hall. In their run to the title, she tallied 16, 19, 16 and 21 kills.

Danica Rach, Sierra Canyon (Chatsworth, Calif.)
6-2 | Senior (Class of 2024) | Boston College

Finished her career just shy of 1,000 career kills, pounding 317 this season for the Trailblazers. Ranked for much of the season, Sierra Canyon finished 34-9 against a tough national schedule. Rach added 41 aces, 272 digs and 568 serve receptions.

Alec Rothe, Dublin Scioto (Dublin, Ohio)
6-3 | Senior (Class of 2024) | Florida

The three-sport athlete finished her career with 1,311 kills after logging 295 in 70 sets as she played for the gold-medal winning USA Volleyball U19 team at the beginning of the season.

Emmerson Sellman, The Academy of the Holy Cross (Kensington, Md.)
6-4 | Senior (Class of 2024) | Ohio State

Helped the Tartans to the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference title as well as a gold for USA Volleyball this season. Notched 336 kills, 154 digs and 56 aces as Holy Cross went 29-0.

Teraya Sigler, Horizon (Scottsdale, Ariz.)
6-3 | Junior (Class of 2025) | Nebraska

The future Husker dropped 30 kills in the five-set, state-title win over Millennium. For the season, she pounded 614 kills (5.2 per set) and added 358 digs as the Huskies went 32-10.

Izzy Starck, Viera (Fla.)
6-0 | Senior (Class of 2024) | Penn State

A MaxPreps All-American in 2022 while playing in Colorado, she again earns the honor from Florida. She posted 434 kills for the 27-5 Hawks, who fell in the postseason to eventual champion St. Thomas Aquinas.

Setter

Emilee Fuller, Assumption
5-7 | Junior (Class of 2025) | Uncommitted
The Rockets won their 23rd state title behind the stellar play of hitter Moriarty and the setting of Fuller, who tossed up 1,290 assists (11.7 per set). She had double-digit assists in all but one match as the Rockets finished 37-5 and ranked No. 7 nationally.

Sade Ilawole, Sierra Canyon
6-1 | Senior (Class of 2024) | Uncommitted

For the second straight year, she tossed up more than 1,000 assists, finishing her Trailblazers career with 3,105. In 2023, Ilawole had 1,012 assists.

Blakeley Robbins, Bayside Academy (Daphne, Ala.)
6-0 | Senior (Class of 2024) | University of Montevallo

Only the 12th player in state history to surpass the 4,000-assist mark, she helped the Admirals to a 46-10 season with 1,283 assists. She added 163 kills, 82 aces and 328 digs.

Kalena Stavish, Immaculate Heart Academy (Washington Township, N.J.)
5-7 | Senior (Class of 2024) | Salve Regina University

Helped the Blue Eagles to back-to-back Non-Public B titles with 545 assists as they went 29-1. She finishes her career with 1,856 assists.



Lilly Wagner, Oconomowoc (Wis.)
6-0 | Senior (Class of 2024) | Maryland

Topped the 1,000-assist mark for the third straight season as the Raccoons finished 41-4 and runner up in Division 1. Wagner had 1,072 assists, finishing her career with 3,699.

Taylor Deckert, Mira Costa

The Bay Valley League Libero of the Year anchored the back row for the 12th-ranked Mustangs. She finished 2023 with 572 serve receptions, 537 digs and 63 aces as Mira Costa went 39-4.

Maya Evens, Cathedral Catholic
5-7 | Junior (Class of 2025) | Maryland

Helped the Dons reach the Southern California Open Division final as a stalwart on defense. She had 310 serve receptions, 260 digs and 20 aces as her team went 34-5 and finished No. 11 nationally.

Julia Grace, Notre Dame Academy (Park Hills, Ky.)
5-6 | Junior (Class of 2025) | Uncommitted

With 496 serve receptions and 419 digs, she helped the Pandas to a 35-7 season and state runner-up finish.

Kaylee Lowther, Jackson Academy (Jackson, Miss.)
5-4 | Senior (Class of 2024) | Southern Miss

Leaves Jackson Academy as a four-time champion. Led an epic five-set final with 34 digs, finishing the year with 719. She added 605 serve receptions this season.



Erin Clark, Corona del Sol (Tempe, Ariz.)

The Aztecs went 34-9 and reached the 6A semifinals behind their defensive leader. Clark had 545 digs and added 49 aces along with 69 assists.

Camille Edwards, Prestonwood Christian
5-11 | Senior (Class of 2024) | Michigan

In 109 sets, she tallied 602 assists for the two-time TAPPS 6A champions. Added 145 digs and 50 aces as the Lions finished 36-4 and No. 4 in the MaxPreps Top 25.

Carson Eickenloff, Boyd (McKinney, Texas)
5-7 | Senior (Class of 2024) | Ole Miss

Posted 309 kills along with 678 assists and 487 digs as her team went 31-2.

Carlie Cisneros, Liberty North (Liberty, Mo.)
6-0 | Senior (Class of 2024) | Arizona

Posted 405 kills and 356 digs for the 24-7 Eagles. The No. 7-ranked player by PrepDig ended her four years at Liberty North with 1,642 kills along with 1,292 digs and 143 assists.
