Baseball Recap: Providence Catholic Comes Up Short

If Providence Catholic was riding high fresh off their 14-3 takedown of Fenwick on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Celtics took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the De La Salle Meteors on Wednesday. The Celtics were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Meteors apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2025.

Providence Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 15-14. As for De La Salle, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-10 record this season.

Providence Catholic is taking a road trip to square off against Lincoln-Way Central at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for De La Salle, they will be playing at home against Andrean at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Fighting 59ers' pitching crew has only allowed two runs per game this season, so the Meteors' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
