Volleyball Recap: Sanderson's Win Ends Four-Game Losing Streak on the Road + How To Watch

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Middle Creek, Sanderson was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Cary Imps. The game was the first time the Spartans have beaten the Imps on their court since August 19, 2019.

Sanderson was especially dominant in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 26-24, 25-23.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Sanderson to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ryleigh Roche, who had 17 digs and three aces. Those three aces gave Roche a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Mireya Chavez, who had 18 digs and one assist.

They weren't the only good servers: Sanderson was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 12 aces. They are 5-1 when they serve at least ten aces.

Sanderson's victory ended a four-match drought on the road and puts them at 5-13. As for Cary, they dropped their record down to 3-13 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home.

Sanderson has already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against East Wake on the 6th. As for Cary, they will head out to take on Felton Grove at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
