Softball Recap: Pierce Takes a Loss

Pierce extended their losing streak to three on Thursday, dropping them down to 8-15. They fell 8-5 to Logan View/Scribner-Snyder. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Logan View/Scribner-Snyder this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-2 back in August.

Athena Bretschneider made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one double. Jessa Kraft also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

As for Logan View/Scribner-Snyder, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games.

On Logan View/Scribner-Snyder's side, the team relied heavily on Maryn Wragge, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Rachel Purvis, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one double.

Pierce has already played their next game, a 4-1 defeat against Ponca on the 25th. As for Logan View/Scribner-Snyder, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, an 8-2 loss against Arlington on the 27th.
