Baseball Recap: Prout Comes Up Short

North Providence hit Prout with a five-run second inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Crusaders came up short against the Cougars, falling 8-1. The Crusaders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cougars apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2025.

Prout saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ryan Antonucci, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double.

This is the second loss in a row for Prout and nudges their season record down to 2-13. As for North Providence, they pushed their record up to 9-5-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Prout has already played their next game, a 13-5 defeat against Toll Gate on the 16th. As for North Providence, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 6-0 victory against Johnston on the 13th.
