Basketball Recap: Spring Starts Season with Win Against Goose Creek Memorial

Spring took care of business in their home opener on Friday. They secured a 42-38 W over the Goose Creek Memorial Patriots. The Lions have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Patriots, too.

Leading Spring to victory were Richard Gant and Waylon Woods. Gant posted five points and five rebounds, while Woods scored ten points. What's more, Gant posted two steals, the most he's had since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Latravion Scroggins, who had three points and three steals.

Coming up, Spring will venture away from home to square off against Klein Forest at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Goose Creek Memorial, they will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Port Neches-Groves at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
