King City and North Monterey County squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but King City had to settle for second. They took a 54-40 bruising from the North Monterey County Condors. The Mustangs have struggled against the Condors recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

King City's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Amity Hearne, who posted eight points and 12 rebounds, and Alizah Carrillo, who had 13 points and five steals. Hearne has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more boards the last nine times she's played.

King City's loss dropped their record down to 11-14. As for North Monterey County, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record this season.
