Basketball Recap: Johnsonburg Comes Up Short

Johnsonburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Moniteau Warriors, falling 48-12. The match marked the Rams' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Sophia Fleeger had an outrageously good game for Moniteau as she went 5 of 11 on her way to 19 points in addition to six rebounds and four steals. Those 19 points gave Fleeger a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyssa Thompson, who posted 12 points.

Johnsonburg's loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Moniteau, they moved to 4-11 with that victory, which also ended their six-game losing streak.

Johnsonburg has already played their next game (against Brockway), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Moniteau is taking a road trip to challenge Union at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
