Volleyball Recap: McGill-Toolen Find Success

It was close, but on Tuesday the McGill-Toolen Yellowjackets sidestepped the Gulf Shores Dolphins for a 3-2 win.

McGill-Toolen was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 23-25, 22-25, 25-10, 15-13.

Payton Mcclarren had a dynamite game, getting 30 digs and two aces. That's the most digs she has posted since back in September of 2024. Rowan Thompson also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

McGill-Toolen's victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Gulf Shores, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-2.

Looking ahead, McGill-Toolen will face off against Aledo at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Gulf Shores, they will be playing at home against Westminster Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
