Basketball Preview: Buckingham Charter Knights vs. Sacramento Country Day Cavaliers
Buckingham Charter has enjoyed the comforts of home their last four games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Sacramento Country Day Cavaliers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Buckingham Charter comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 22 points in their last five games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
On Saturday, Buckingham Charter was beaten by the Wolves 55-10.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Sacramento Country Day, who are still winless after their 13th game. They had to suffer through a rough 58-30 loss at the hands of Valley Christian. While losing is never fun, Sacramento Country Day can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1235th, while the Lions are ranked 376th).
Buckingham Charter has not been sharp recently as the team's lost 11 of their last 12 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-14 record this season. As for Sacramento Country Day, their loss was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-13.
Buckingham Charter didn't have too much breathing room in their match against the Cavaliers in their previous meeting back in January, but they still walked away with a 26-20 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Buckingham Charter since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
