Aquinas was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They fell just short of the Augusta Prep Day Cavaliers by a score of 10-9. That's two games in a row now that Aquinas has lost by just one run.

Copelan Thurmond was cooking despite his team's loss, firing off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 3-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Mattie Stewart, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.

On Augusta Prep Day's side, Beau Polcha was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. Polcha is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now stolen at least one in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was J.T Gay, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Aquinas' loss dropped their record down to 6-17. As for Augusta Prep Day, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 8-10 record this season.
